The Built Environment Accelerate to Market Programme (BEAMP) is part of the research & innovation arm of the BuildSG Transformation Fund. BEAMP was launched on 22 February 2019 by BCA, JTC Corporation (JTC), and Enterprise Singapore (ESG).

What are the objectives of BEAMP?

BEAMP aims to fast-track solutions to Singapore’s real-world challenges in the BE sector by bringing innovators and firms together. Through this programme, innovators (including start-ups) will be connected to investor funding, business networks, test-bedding opportunities, and mentorship programmes as they develop innovative solutions to address unmet needs of the sector.

With BEAMP, promising innovators have the opportunity to bring their expertise, technology, and solutions to market faster than ever. Aligning with the goals of the BuildSG Transformation Fund, BEAMP enables innovators from both small and large firms to receive support for their ground-breaking initiatives.

To accelerate the BuildSG goals of rapidly transforming Singapore’s built environment sector, BEAMP comprehensively covers eight areas of innovation:

BEAMP Timeline

Each BEAMP cycle starts with a call for challenge statements from BE firms. Thereafter, industry briefing and networking sessions will be arranged. These sessions help innovators better understand the nuances of each challenge statement based on the specific needs of the sponsoring BE firm (i.e. the challenge statement owner). Innovators then submit their formal proposals, and the proposals will be matched with the appropriate challenge statement owners accordingly.

*or up to 50% of qualifying costs, whichever is lower (funding from Enterprise Singapore). Sustainability-related projects may also receive funding of up to 70%.

How to qualify for BEAMP funding

BEAMP supports start-ups as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with up to 50% of qualifying costs. Funding is capped at S$50,000 for the Accelerate Solution Development (ASD) phase, and S$250,000 for the Market Development (MD) phase. Sustainability-related projects can receive support of up to 70%.

In addition, BEAMP also funds companies up to $250,000 to conduct small-scale commercial trials. This funding will help companies gain early market traction and build track records, enabling them to bolster their chances of commercialisation in the wider industry.

Companies keen to apply to BEAMP should meet these criteria:

  1. Be registered and operating in Singapore.

  2. Have a minimum of 30% local shareholding.

  3. Be in a financially viable position to start and complete the project.
