Strata Management Guides
Managing a shared estate involves balancing legal requirements with daily practicalities. The set of Strata Management Guides provides clear expectations of the Building (Strata Management) Act and its role in estate management. They highlight good practices, share practical examples of condo management, and cover a wide range of topics designed to support strata stakeholders, including council members and unit owners.
The revised Building (Strata Management) Act [B(SM)A] came into effect on 1 February 2019. BCA developed a set of Strata Management Guides (“Guides”) to help management corporations (MCSTs) and unit owners to better understand and follow the requirements of the Act when managing their estates (e.g. condominiums and apartments).
The guides outline and explain the requirements stated in the B(SM)A and contain examples of good practices for condo management. Please note that these guides should not be used as a substitute for independent legal advice.
