The Building Control Act ensures the compliance of building works with safety, accessibility, environmental sustainability, and buildability standards. It supports Singapore’s pursuit of a world-class built environment by championing safety, sustainability, and liveability whilst fostering a dynamic industry that is equipped to adapt to evolving needs.
Building works is defined as:
(a) The erection, extension, or demolition of a building;
(b) The alteration, addition, or repair or a building;
(c) The provision, extension, or alteration of any air-conditioning service or ventilating system in connection with a building.
And includes site formation works connected with or carried out for the purpose of (a), (b), or (c).
